Design by Celerie Kimble Interiors
With the holidays just around the corner, I thought I would take a moment to share some ideas on informal but elegant entertaining with a look at table settings. Today, we can steal the tricks to this inviting tablescape by designer Celerie Kimble. On Friday we will look the etiquette or “how-to” of achieving a simple festive table setting of your own.
Candle Bright: A white tablecloth as the base and black runners placed across the width of the table act as dual placements. A simple yet elegant solution that allows you to squeeze in one or two more friends and family. Black candle tapers rather than the usual ivory or white add to the sophisticated look and tie the scheme together.
Warm Metals: The golden hue of the brass candlesticks and flatware adds warmth to the setting. The subtle gleam seems very festive.
Fresh White: Simple white-on-white dishware, water goblets, napkins and textured vases with a low single variety flower arrangement add a freshness to the table. The prefect way to balance out what can only be described as one of the heaviest meals of the year?!
I just love the simplicity of this setting and can easily see you switching out the black runner and black candles for a more traditional holiday red.
What will your holiday table look like?
